The role of our department, which is at the intersection between technology, management, and design, is
to support engineering students as well as other NYU students in using technology to develop meaningful
innovations that have a social impact. Walkway with its sustainability focus, is such an innovation. The
team’s work is very promising. Not only have they been through multiple iterations to develop a strong
working prototype and MVP, but they also have been very active in developing relationships with various
stakeholders at NYU and outside of NYU to pilot and get some funding.
